WAC 2010 Marketing Brochure
Greetings, all!
The 2010 marketing brochure for Washington Aerospace is now available.
Please feel free to use the brochure in any capacity that might benefit the club – show friends what WAC is all about; take it to work to impress co-workers with your hobby; use it to explain to teachers that there is a club dedicated to the science and fun of hobby rocketry; entice scouting programs to pursue Space Exploration achievements; help your local hobby store cultivate business, etc.
In fact, let’s use this brochure as one might send information in a “pyramid” email – send this note to 5 of your friends who send it to 5 of their friends, etc.!!! J If we all do that, it won’t be long before Mansfield becomes a major “Point of Interest” on everyone’s GPS!!! “Fire in the Sky” will be a destination event across the country!!
Get ready, Tom Snell!!
Sending 5 copies right now,
Kent

OROC Wilsonville Launch February 13th 2010
Memorial Park Wilsonville, Oregon Launch
OregonRocketry is hosting a Model Rocket Launch event at Memorial Park in Wilsonville, Oregon on Saturday, February 13th, 2009. The range is open for flights between 12:00pm and 3:00pm, setup begins at 11:00am.
Class 1 rockets under the new FAR101 unmanned rocket rules include; (1) Uses no more than 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of propellant; (2) Uses a slow-burning propellant; (3) Is made of paper, wood, or breakable plastic; (4) Contains no substantial metal parts; and (5) Weighs no more than 1,500 grams (53 ounces), including the propellant. A through G motors are welcome, and even some H motors. You must however stay below our altitude limits. Conditions of the site mostly limit us to 1000 feet or cloud deck. Clear conditions and zero/low wind may permit higher fights. Ask the LCO if restrictions apply and approval for flight.
Join us. Bring the family. Bring some rockets and have a great time flying. No RSVP necessary, just show up. When you arrive at the park, turn to the left and follow the road into the South East section of the field.

Fliers; Event time is 12:00pm – 3:00pm; all NAR rules apply, plus any additional rules / restrictions for this site. A fliers meeting right at the start of the event. LCO tables are not for prep, please use the available tables in the prep area. This is a sanctioned launch event by National Association of Rocketry through NAR section 555 OREO (Steve Tarr).
Support staff; We are planning to arrive by 11:00am to scope out parking and field preference. We’ll have a six rod launch pad (has 1/8, 3/8, and 1/4″ rods), and two LCO tables, flight line stakes, and a couple of launch controllers. So no OROC GSE is needed for this event. We need extra tables for the prep area. We’ll hold a fliers meeting right at noon.
The weather may be cold, so be prepared with warm shoes and socks — standing on cold wet ground always turns my feet to blocks of ice.
Washington Aerospace membership dues for 2010
Washington Aerospace membership dues are for the calendar year. Even if you paid your 2009 dues right before FITS, your membership expired on December 31st. I encourage all members, and those who would like to become members, to visit our online membership registration page: http://www.washingtonaerospace.org/membership_form.php. This page allows you easily renew your membership or join the club, including paying your dues via PayPal. The page also provides instructions for renewing the old fashioned way with paper-based form, check, and snail mail.
Liability waivers are also needed each calendar year. If you use the online registration page, you will be given a link to an online waiver form. All you have to do is print the generated PDF, sign it, and bring it to the first club-sponsored launch you attend. If you have already renewed your membership, or you just like liability waivers, you can go to the form directly: http://www.washingtonaerospace.org/waiver_form.php. The page also gives you the opportunity to print a blank form that can be filled in by hand.
Thanks in advance for all of your support. Please let me know if you have any questions.
